God Bless America

Here is a family shot from 4th of July weekend.....We celebrated at Kathryn's on Sunday, the 5th with a cookout! On the 3rd we all went to a park in Suwanee and watched an awesome fireworks show after a really great performance by a Beatles cover band. On the 4th Eric and I joined Amanda, Goof, Ali, Pete and Nancy for dinner at a mexican restaurant nearby and then Eric and I sat on our roof and watched more fireworks. I love the feeling of patriotism and love for our country that I get on Independence Day. God Bless America!

This past weekend, we spent camping on the Raven Fork River in Cherokee, NC. We had such a fun weekend.....we went tubing, (eric went midnight tubing too), biking, danced all night saturday to the Clayborn Band http://claybornband.shutterfly.com , and I even sang a solo.... 'You really got a hold on me' done originally by Smokey Robinson and the Miracles. It was so much fun singing and before I could even start, the dance floor was packed full of dancers....it was really a great crowd.

This is a little clip of my niece Ali enjoying the music saturday night....

Season of changes....

well...alot has happened in the last few months. Some good, some sad. I'll start with the sad. My grandmother, Virginia Elizabeth Liddell Russell passed away father's day weekend.
What an amazing woman! She will truly be missed by our huge family and friends. Her husband of 63 years passed away this past new year's.....so its definitely been a big loss for our family. On a lighter note, after many months of Eric and I's patience being tested....he has finally started his new job at Lockheed Martin Aeronautical in Marietta, GA. He started on monday and we are both very happy for this opportunity. He will also have to go to Marietta for his once a month weekend for the Guard....so we are beginning to look into relocating somewhere closer...since I work from home. We'll see what happens...

June has been a very busy month...from concerts, weddings, and wedding showers...and Camp Victory. Eric and I were both counselours at Camp Victory this year and we loved it. It was an amazing week for both of us!!
from toccoa falls....
to the shaving cream fight...

I'm a Military Wife!

So...eric has officially joined the Air National Guard as of 5/19/2009!

I guess I was technically a military wife already, b/c Eric was still in the Air Force when we got married, he was just on his leave that he had saved up....so that doesn't really count. SO...he will start his first drill weekend on June 13th and then he is going to Biloxi, MS for 16 weeks starting in July or early August. We both feel happy about this new job and we know that God has great plans for us. Eric's job in the National Guard will be Computer Systems Control. He plans to get a civilian job doing this as well, once he finishes his tech school down in Biloxi. His contract is for 3 years with the Guard and he will be at Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta, GA.

Here's to a new job and military benefits! :)
